Schlotterbeck pleased with Germany's performance against Denmark: "We're playing with euphoria"

Nico Schlotterbeck was delighted with Germany's performance in their 2-0 win over Denmark on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck made his first start of the European Championship in Germany's 2-0 win over Denmark in the round of 16, coming into the team as a replacement for the suspended Jonathan Tah.

Schlotterbeck had an early goal ruled out for offside before later providing the assist for Jamal Musiala's 2-0 goal in Germany's win.

In a post-match interview, Schlotterbeck expressed his satisfaction with Germany's performance.

"I thought we played a great game. We had great fans again. I'm really happy for the team. It's wonderful that we're in the quarter-finals. I haven't had the most fortunate performances in the Germany shirt so far, but we defended exceptionally well today," said Schlotterbeck.

“We played a very good game and were rewarded for it. We've sparked something in the country - we're playing with euphoria, with joy - I'm just delighted.”

Germany will meet the winner of Sunday's last-16 clash between Spain and Georgia in the quarter-finals.
