Fulham and Portugal midfielder Joao Palhinha came close to joining Bayern Munich last summer, but the deal fell through on the last day of the transfer window.

He is now being linked with a move to the Säbener Strasse once again and recently cryptically stated that "both clubs know where I want to be in a month's time".

Portugal coach Roberto Martinez is confident that the 29-year-old would make Bayern a better team should the move come to fruition.

"João is not only good enough for Bayern, he would take the team to another level. He's at the best moment of his career and can make his teammates better," Martinez said after watching Portugal beat Slovenia in the round of 16 at Euro 2024, according to Fussball.news.

"He has developed perfectly since coming to the Premier League," Martinez added.

“I really liked his performance. Slovenia have very fast players and they wanted the second balls. He stopped them very well.”
