Raum on Denmark clash: "Very nerve-racking"

Germany defender David Raum was relieved to see off Denmark in a nervy encounter.

David Raum described Germany's last-16 clash with Denmark as "very nerve-wracking".

In a match that was disrupted by bad weather in the first half and later influenced by two controversial VAR decisions, Germany came out on top, much to the delight of Raum, who made his first start at the Euros.

"It's a great pleasure to be through to the next round," Raum said in a post-match interview.

"It was a wild game. Thunderstorms, VAR, lots of chances. It was very nerve-racking. I'm glad I could help.

“It's all about performance. Everyone has to put their heart into it. You can see and feel that. We'll enjoy the win now and then we'll prepare for our quarter-final opponents,” said the left-back.
