Having lived in Germany since joining RB Leipzig in 2013, Denmark's upcoming Euro 2024 last-16 clash will be an extraordinary one for Yussuf Poulsen.
Sharing his thoughts on the match against Germany, the 30-year-old striker told Sky Germany:
“We are the underdogs in this match. It will be great to play against the hosts. It will be a special match for me. I've been living in Germany for eleven years, so I'll be seeing a lot of my mates.”
Asked if he will be giving his teammates a few tips about the German team, Poulsen replied:
“Yes, of course. I do that before every game. I know some of the German players a bit better, I've met them more often. We'll talk about it.”
When questioned about who he sees as the favorites to win the Euros, Poulsen replied:
“There are a lot of good teams. It's also often the case that a lot of teams really step up their game later in the tournament and show their best performances. It's impossible to say who will end up on the podium with the trophy. The Germans have looked good so far, and now they will definitely be up against a good opponent."
