Germany vs. Denmark interrupted due to weather conditions

Saturday's Euro 2024 last-16 clash between Germany and Denmark has been interrupted due to heavy rain and thunder.

Update: The game has resumed after a break of around 20 minutes.

Due to adverse weather conditions, Saturday's Euro 2024 round of 16 match between Germany and Denmark in Dortmund has been suspended indefinitely.

Referee Michael Oliver abandoned the match in the 36th minute with the score at 0-0 after heavy rain began to fall, accompanied by thunder and lightning.

The players then went to the dressing rooms to await further instructions.

"UEFA will make an announcement on the resumption of the game in due course," a statement on the UEFA website read.

Nico Schlotterbeck had the ball in the net for Germany early on, but it was ruled out for a free-kick.

The hosts continued to create chances to open the scoring, but goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has kept everything out of the net so far.
