Dutch riser Pherai completes HSV switch

Dutch talent Immanuel Pherai - linked with several top-tier Bundesliga sides over the last few months - has opted for a switch to HSV instead.
Linked with a Bundesliga move both during the winter transfer window and this summer's market, Eintracht Braunschweig midfielder Immanuel Pherai has opted to remain in the second division instead. It was confirmed on Saturday that the 22-year-old €2-million-valued talent would sign on with the 2. Bundesliga's Hanseatic side.

Germany's preeminent footballing publication, Kicker Magazine, reports that Braunschweig will receive a transfer fee of approximately €1.5 million. Pherai - who ran himself on the radar of Bundesliga sides with an excellent 14-scorer-point-haul season in Lower Saxony - receives a new deal with HSV runs through 2027.

"We are delighted that Immanuel has chosen our path and is moving to HSV," board member Jonas Boldt noted in a club statement, "His development, especially last season at Eintracht Braunschweig, finally prompted us to look at him and a move to HSV early and intensively."

"Immanuel is a real street footballer who is very courageous and determined offensively," Hamburg's personnel director Claus Costa added, "He is technically strong, very fast and always looks for the direct route to the goal to become a goal threat himself or to set up his teammates. Plus, Immanuel wants to make the difference, so we are very excited about him."

"I can't wait to play in this stadium and in front of these fans," Pherai himself said, :They impressed me a lot when I was a guest here with Eintracht. After that, I said: I would like to play for HSV."
