Bonucci set to sue Juventus, reports claim
Union Berlin defender Leonardo Bonucci is reportedly planning to take legal action against his former club Juventus.
Union Berlin's new signing Leonardo Bonucci is planning to sue his former employers Juventus, according to reports in Italy.
Bonucci accuses the Turin club of providing him with "inadequate training conditions", which he claims has damaged his image and put him at a professional disadvantage.
Before the start of the 2023/24 season, Juventus decided that Bonucci would no longer play a role. As a result, he was not invited to the team's trip to the United States and had to stay away from the team's training and train separately, even though he still had one year left on his contract.
The veteran also accuses Juventus of denying him access to the gym, swimming pool and other training facilities. In addition, he was apparently denied the opportunity to consult with the club's staff.
Bonucci does not want his complaint to be seen as the result of personal animosity between him and his ex-club. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Bonucci wants to set an example because many footballers find themselves in a similar situation but have no means of redress.
Fittingly, he intends to donate all the money earned from the case to Neuroland, an association that supports the families of children hospitalized in the pediatric neurosurgery department of a children's hospital in Turin, and to Live Onlus, an organization that uses the proceeds from auctions of top athletes' equipment to buy and donate defibrillators to sports clubs, schools and municipalities.
