Oliver Kahn is set to be appointed in an executive role at Bayern München in January 2020, Bild understands.

According to the German tabloid, Kahn will initially become a member of the board. If all goes according to plan, the former Bayern keeper will then take over the role as CEO from Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 2022.

Rummenigge's contract runs until the end of 2021 which means he'll have two years to groom Kahn to become his successor.

Bild further reports that the appointment of Kahn will not have any consequences for Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic who is under contract until the summer of 2020.

As a player, Kahn made 632 appearances for Bayern between 1994 and 2008.
