Serhou Guirassy spoke to the media after Borussia Dortmund defeated Mexican side CF Monterrey by a 2-1 result, in the round of sixteen of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup tournament in Atlanta.

The Guinean international forward was responsible for both goals, in the twelfth and twenty-fourth minutes; he finished as the player of the match, statistically completing 21 / 28 passes, finishing 6 / 10 in ground duels, 5 / 6 in aerial duels, and 2 / 3 in dribble attempts.

When asked to give an overall summary of the 90 minutes, Guirassy said to DAZN: “It was difficult, they are a good team with experienced players. I think we had a very good first half; the second half was a little bit harder, but our mindset was tough and we won, so we are all happy tonight.”

The media also asked him about how he felt, scoring both goals and being the man of the match. Guirassy responded: “It is good - I think I can score maybe three goals at least, but I am happy that I have a good team and the most important thing is to win the match.”

When asked about facing a team like Monterrey that is very tough defensively, and facing 39-year-old Spanish veteran Sergio Ramos in particular, Guirassy said to the media: “It was a good experience; I like to play against these kind of big players - he [Ramos] is a great man, was a tough player, still good. We spoke at the end of the match, he is a really good guy.”

Lastly, Guirassy was asked about what he expects from the match with Real Madrid on Saturday. He gave a very brief answer, saying that it will be a “very tough game” and that “we know that Real want to go through, so we have to prepare.”
