Schalke 04's Daniel Caligiuri has attracted interest from a number of Italian clubs, Sport Bild understands.

According to the German news outlet, AC Milan, Inter and AS Roma are all keeping an eye on the 31-year-old who's under contract until 2020.

Schalke 04 head of sport Jochen Schneider doesn't have any intention of letting Caligiuri go, though.

"Daniel is a great guy with a great character. We are totally happy that he is at Schalke. There's no reason to think about a transfer," Schneider told Sport Bild.

When asked about his future, Caligiuri said he can imagine staying at Schalke.

"It's a great honor for me to play for Schalke," Caligiuri told Sport Bild.

Caligiuri, who was born in Germany to an Italian father and a German mother, has made 37 appearances for Schalke this season with seven goals and five assists to his name.

The 31-year-old can play both as a right-back and as a right midfielder.
