Marco Reus says he's pleased with Borussia Dortmund's new signings as he sets sights on winning the Bundesliga.

BVB newcomers Mats Hummels, Thorgan Hazard, Nico Schulz and Julian Brandt will increase competition for places at Dortmund - and Reus believes that's a good thing.

"We have signed quality players, because we absolutely want to win the championship. This promotes the principle that you are judged by your performances, everyone must work hard," the Dortmund captain said in an interview with Sky.

Reus expects that Dortmund will not only face competition from Bayern München, but from RB Leipzig as well.

"I think it's a shame that it's being reduced to being between Bayern and us. [RB Leipzig] will also be very strong this year. Furthermore, there is a surprise team in almost every season," he said.

Bayern München clinched the 2018/19 title with two points more than Reus and Dortmund.
