Fortuna boss: Zack Steffen can become one of the best goalkeepers in Europe

Fortuna Düsseldorf boss Lutz Pfannenstiel has high expectations for Zack Steffen.
Fortuna Düsseldorf sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel believes Zack Steffen has the potential to become one of the top goalkeepers in Europe.

Steffen joined Fortuna on loan from Manchester City last summer, and Pfannenstiel has been really impressed with the 24-year-old's performances.

"Zack has had a fantastic start to the season and has shown that he can become a top goalkeeper in Europe," Pfannenstiel said in an interview with Transfermarkt and added:

"Under normal circumstances, we wouldn't be able to get a goalkeeper of his caliber on the market."

"Giving players the chance to play in one of the best leagues in the world by taking them in on loan is a win-win situation," he said.

The U.S. international has made 18 appearances for Fortuna so far. He missed the club's last two games due to injury.
