Borussia Mönchengladbach captain Lars Stindl feels back in top form after fighting his way back from a long-term injury.

The midfielder was sidelined for around six months with a fracture of the tibia and needed some time to get back in form after making his return in October.

Speaking to Kicker after Gladbach's 3-2 win over Augsburg on Saturday that saw him score a brace and make an assist, Stindl said he finally feels at his best again.

"It feels good and gives me a feeling of happiness on a personal level. But, more importantly, we played a good game and took three points," he said and added:

"I'm glad that I'm completely fit and in top form again. I was out for a long time."

Stindl, 31, has made 19 appearances for Gladbach this season, racking up seven goals and three assists.
