Nico Elvedi says he's currently expecting to stay at Borussia Mönchengladbach beyond the summer.

"I feel very comfortable in Gladbach and still have a contract. That's why it currently looks like I'll be playing for Borussia next season as well," the centre-back told Rheinische Post.

"Anything can happen in football, and things can move fast, but as long as I feel comfortable here, there's no reason to leave.

"If I were to leave, it would definitely have to be a step forward at an absolute top club," he said.

Elvedi confirmed in December that his contract had been automatically extended by a further year until 2022.
