Borussia Dortmund would like to tie Dan-Axel Zagadou down to a new long-term contract, says sporting director Michael Zorc.

"We can well imagine that. But we haven't really had any conversations with him about it," Zorc told Kicker when asked about the centre-back, whose current deal expires in 2022.

Zorc is happy with the progress Zagadou has made since his move to Germany from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, but still feels there is room for improvement for the 21-year-old.

"He has huge potential," Zorc said and added:

"He can still develop. He needs to work on his mobility as well as his robustness. What's important for him is that he stays healthy."

Zagadou missed more than half of Dortmund's Bundesliga games in the second half of the season due to injuries.
