Kevin Akpoguma opts to play for Nigeria

Kevin Akpoguma has opted to line up for Nigeria in the future.
Former Germany youth international Kevin Akpoguma has announced that he wants to play for Nigeria.

The son of a German mother and a Nigerian father, the Hoffenheim centre-back is eligible to play for both sides at international level, and he has now decided that he will be lining up for 'The Super Eagles' in the future.

"I have been considering this for quite some time. I'm not at an age, where I have already gained experience at international level with TSG and feel ready to play for my country," Akpoguma told Hoffenheim's website.

Akpoguma, 25, has represented Germany a total of 62 times at youth level, playing for the U16, U17, U18, U19, U20 and U21 teams.
