Ismail Jakobs has put pen to paper on a contract extension with FC Köln, the Bundesliga club have announced.

The 21-year-old, who is capable of playing as a left-back and on the left wing, has signed a new deal until 2024.

"FC is my club. I'm pleased to have made the step up to the first-team here. Those responsible – Horst Heldt, Markus Gisdol and André Pawlak – have played a big part in that and have given me their full trust from the beginning. I want to pay tat back with strong performances on the pitch, to continue working on myself and to help ensure that we reach our goal," said Jakobs in a statement.

Jakobs has played 20 games for FC Köln with two goals and two assists to his name.
