FC Köln have a shortlist of three candidates in their search for a new long-term coach, according to Kicker.

Earlier this month, 'The Billy Goats' sacked Markus Gisdol and replaced him with coaching veteran Friedhelm Funkel on a short-team deal for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign.

As per Kicker, Peter Stöger, Steffen Baumgart and Thorsten Fink are in contention to take the reins from Funkel, who has made it clear that he will not continue beyond the summer.

Stöger is currently serving in a dual role as coach and sporting director at Austria Wien and is out of contract in the summer.

Meanwhile, Baumgart has announced that he will be departing SC Paderborn this summer while Fink has been unemployed since leaving his position as coach of Japanese side Vissel Kobe in September.
