Bayern München honorary president Uli Hoeness has poured could water on reports that the German champions have shown interest in Georginio Wijnaldum.

The 30-year-old is available on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool, but Bayern have no intention of signing him, according to Hoeness.

"From what I've heard, we're not interested in this player at all," Hoeness said in an interview with Sport1.

"There will be no big transfers [at Bayern]. You can forget that. This was agreed between the Board of Management and the Supervisory Board at the last meeting," he added.

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Wijnaldum is close to a move to FC Barcelona.
