Arne Maier 'all over the moon' as Germany U21 advance to semi-finals

Germany U21 captain Arne Maier was delighted after his team's penalty shootout win over Denmark.
Germany advanced to the semi-finals of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship on Monday, beating Denmark on penalties after the game had ended 2-2 after extra-time.

Speaking to UEFA.com after the game, Germany U21 captain Arne Maier was naturally relieved by the outcome of the match.

"We are, of course, all over the moon. Everyone saw how we celebrated. We just put the work in over the 120 minutes, and I'm proud of the team," said Maier.

"Penalty shootouts are all about nerve. We proved that we had more on this occasion, and we are happy victors."

Maier and Germany will face the Netherlands in the semi-finals on Thursday.
