The German international has previously made it clear that he would like to play in the Bundesliga in the future.
Per The Athletic, however, he is most likely to stay in Italy beyond the summer.
Gosens has also been linked with Atletico Madrid, Leicester and Juventus.
The 26-year-old's contract at Atalanta runs until 2022, but the club have an option to extend it by a further year.
