Germany could poach Klinsmann from the United States

Jonathan Klinsmann has made 21 appearances for the American under-20 team, but he was recently invited to a training camp by the German Football Association.
Jonathan Klinsmann - the son of German international legend Jürgen Klinsmann - has appeared 21 times for the American under-20 national team. But maybe he will switch allegiance to Germany in the future?

According to Bild, the 21-year-old keeper, who is eligible to play for both the United States and Germany, has been invited to a training camp by the German Football Association for the first time.

Jonathan Klinsmann currently plays for Hertha BSC's reserves and has made huge progress after joining the Bundesliga club from the United States in 2017.

"Jonathan has taken a big leap forward in his first year as a pro at Hertha BSC, becoming more consistent and confident from week to week. Getting the invitation from the DFB has honored him and made him even hungrier," Jürgen Klinsmann told Bild and added:

"With every day he spends in Berlin, he will feel more attached to the place. That's a normal proccess. I have had the privilege to coach both Germany and the United STates, and I have both citizenships just like Jonathan."

"Of course, we will discuss this issue, and then he will make his decision if the moment comes. His German is getting better, and he feels great at Hertha. If his development continues, he doesn't need to hide behind anyone in his age group in Germany," Jürgen Klinsmann said.

Jonathan Klinsmann has made one appearance for Hertha's first-team. Last season, he made his debut in a Europa League match against Östersunds FK in which he saved a penalty.
