Polish midfielder Karol Linetty, who plays for Serie A club Torino, might be leaving Italy after spending five years there, in order to secure a move to the Bundesliga.

Reports from both Germany and Italy suggest that 26-year-old Linetty is materializing into a transfer prospect for two Bundesliga clubs – Mainz and Freiburg. Among the duo, Mainz are said to be actively scouting him, in order to bolster their midfield force.

Linetty moved to Torino from Sampdoria less than a year ago, on the suggestion of former Sampdoria boss Marco Giampaolo. It remains to be seen if Ivan Juric, who replaced Giampaolo in Turin, includes the Polish ace in his future team plans.

With a transfer market value in the region of €5m, his contract in north Italy expires in June 2024.

Most recently, Linetty scored a goal against Slovakia in the UEFA Euro 2020, as Poland slumped to a 2-1 defeat in the first match day of the group stages.
