Still undefeated this season, newly-crowned Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen will be determined to claim their second trophy of the campaign when they take on Atalanta in the Europa League final on Wednesday.

Despite not playing in the Champions League, some have argued that Bayer Leverkusen are currently the best team in Europe.

Asked if he thought that was true ahead of Wednesday's final, Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick told reporters:

“It's hard to say when you're not playing in the Champions League. So let's wait until next year. But I would say we are the most in-form team in Europe.”

He acknowledged that Leverkusen's form naturally makes them favorites to win the final.

"We haven't lost in 51 games. So go ahead and call us the favorites," Schick said, adding:

“We are in a good flow at the moment. But it's a final, it's something special.”
