1. FC Köln board to stay thanks to close vote

FC Köln's board hosted a membership meeting between themselves and the members of their club on Tuesday this week.
The key decision made was one to keep the board, with a small majority of a 51% vote in favour of keeping the board of the club (voted for by members present).

The membership meeting of 1. FC Köln took place on Tuesday, 24th September 2024 at the massive Lanxess Arena within the heart of the city of Cologne.

On the agenda was discussions surrounding the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) ruling, the current situation this season in the 2. Bundesliga and honouring the wonderful work of some members within the club.
President Werner Wolf also apologised for the mistakes made by the club in failing to prevent the transfer ban.
One particular individual who was celebrated in this gathering was long-standing club stadium announcer Michael Trippel, who has been announcing games for over thirty years spanning seven relegations and many promotions.
Another notable point was the amount of members that Köln has as a club which has risen over time to 140,000 this year. This makes the club within the top five biggest in terms of members in Germany, and also top thirteen in the entire world.
