Having missed last weekend's win in Frankfurt, Manuel Baum has revealed that Anton Kade is a doubt for Saturday's visit of Bayer Leverkusen.
Kade, who was heavily involved in Augsburg's 3-0 win over Schalke back on Matchday 1, looks increasingly likely to remain sidelined.
“He [Kade] has been unable to train yet, so his participation is still in doubt," Augsburg's head coach explained in today's press conference.
“Steve Mounie and Tim Breithaupt are still out. Sima Suso has issues in the adductor area, Faik Sakar has twisted his ankle,” he continued.
Baum continued, discussing the threat their visitors will present and the importance of competition for places in his squad.
"We know the quality Leverkusen possesses. Still, we want to show throughout the entire season that no opponent likes coming to Augsburg.
"It's not just the first eleven that matters. We have a lot of quality and depth in the squad, so no one can rest on their laurels," he concluded.
