Report: Bayern also missed out on Glasner in coaching search

According to Bild, Bayern Munich tried to get Oliver Glasner as their new coach after Ralf Rangnick's rejection - but to no avail.

The list of coaches that Bayern Munich have missed out on in their search for a replacement for Thomas Tuchel is long, and now it turns out that they also failed to land Oliver Glasner.

That's according to Bild, who claims that a few hours after Ralf Rangnick's rejection, the Bayern bosses called Oliver Glasner in the hope of getting him as their new coach.

However, although the Austrian coach showed great interest in joining Bayern, the move didn't materialize as Bayern were unable to reach an agreement with his employers, Crystal Palace.

According to the report, Bayern were prepared to pay €18 million to get Glasner, but Palace wanted at least €100 million to let him go.

Before moving for Rangnick and Glasner, Bayern were turned down for Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann.
