Frankfurt reward Larsson with new contract

Eintracht Frankfurt confirmed a contract extension for young Swedish midfield talent Hugo Larsson on Friday evening.

At the age of 20, young Swedish midfield talent Hugo Larsson has already received his first contract extension with his Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt. Germany's RheinMainAdler confirmed a new deal for (with an estimated market worth of €28 million) the footballer who is currently the most valuable player on their roster Friday evening. Larsson's new deal runs through 2029.

Since breaking through for Dino Toppmöller's SGE early last season, Larsson has made a total of 46 competitive appearances for Frankfurt and scored four goals. He's started all five league fixtures this season, notching two tallies through five match-days. The new working papers, which add another year to his current contract, surely includes a hefty pay increase.

“Hugo progressed very well in his first year at Eintracht Frankfurt and quickly adapted to the Bundesliga," Eintracht sporting director Timmo Hardung noted in a club statement, "He has added a lot of quality to our game and we are convinced that he will continue to develop."

“Today is a great and happy day for myself and my family," the player himself added, "I feel incredibly comfortable at the club and in the city and have felt a great deal of trust from day one. My first year in Frankfurt was amazing and I'm looking forward to many more years with the eagle on my chest."
