Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed he will have a full squad to choose from for Wednesday's Euro 2024 group stage clash with Hungary.
"Everything is fine, everyone is healthy, everyone is fit. We have nothing negative to report," Nagelsmann confirmed at a press conference on
Tuesday evening.
In general, Nagelsmann is "not too worried" about his players' fitness levels.
"The gaps between matches are good. Sure, the season is in your bones, but that's also the case with the opponents. The workload management is different from the clubs. The players are fit and making a good impression," said the Germany coach.
Germany will take a lot of confidence from their 5-1 opening win over Scotland, who Nagelsmann believes are at a similar level to Hungary.
"Against Scotland, we made a few adjustments compared to the warm-up games. They were impressed with the way we played. After the red card, they were no longer on an equal footing. I don't think Scotland are a worse team than Hungary. It was down to the way we played. [Hungary] are under more pressure and have to play more offensively," Nagelsmann said.
On Hungary's strengths, he said:
“Hungary are good on the counter, they have two strikers who are strong in the air. They are very dangerous from set pieces. They already have impressive statistics from set pieces, which we have to prevent. We cannot be too loose at the back.”
