Report: Newcastle make offer for Leverkusen defender

Newcastle are understood to have tabled a bid of around €17.5 million for Bayer Leverkusen defender Mitchel Bakker.

Newcastle United have stepped up their interest in Bayer Leverkusen defender Mitchel Bakker, according to a report from England.

Per the Daily Mail, the Premier League outfit have made an offer of around €17.5 million for the left-back.

The report further claims that Bakker himself is keen on a move to England despite only joining Leverkusen around six months ago from Paris Saint-Germain.

Bakker, 21, has made 15 appearances for 'Die Werkself' following his €7 million switch from France.
