Reports: Simakan sale not a topic for Leipzig

Florian Plettenberg and Philipp Hinze of Sky Germany assert that there is anything concrete to the rumors linking Leipzig's Mohammed Simakan with PSG.

Reports emerging from France's L'Equipe yesterday linking French defender Mohamed Simakan with PSG apparently have no basis. According to two reliable sources working for Germany's Sky outfit, the Saxons have no interest in offloading the €22 million-valued center back, not least after German defender Lukas Klostermann recently incurred another injury expected to sideline him for quite some time.

Simakan made 41 competitive appearances for the German Red Bulls across all competitions last season. He started in RB head-coach Domenico Tedesco's back-three in the DFL Supercup, yet made way for Klostermann in the opening day draw away at Stuttgart. One assumes that, with Klostermann injured, Simakan's regular role in the starting XI should be solidified.

Simakan remains under contract with Leipzig through 2026.
