Jerome Boateng flirts with return to HSV

Former German international Jerome Boateng is flirting with a move back to Hamburger SV.
Jerome Boateng is not ruling out the possibility of returning to his ex-club Hamburger SV.

The former Bayern Munich centre-back, whose contract with Olympique Lyon expires at the end of the season, told Sky Germany:

"I noticed that many fans would like me to return to HSV. I'm very happy about that and I can only say that I don't rule anything out.

"I'm not thinking about retiring for a long time, I want to be top shape again in the summer and have only good memories of Hamburger SV. This club with these fans and this beautiful city belongs in the Bundesliga. I hope that HSV will be promoted."

Boateng has had an injury-plagued 2022/23 campaign with Lyon and has been limited to just four appearances.

He has played 113 matches for HSV in the past, scoring two goals and racking up nine assists.
