Bremen updates: Philipp introduced, Burke reportedly headed to Millwall

SV Werder Bremen have officially rolled out Maximilian Philipp as a new player. Germany's main sporting tabloid now reports that the "unnamed club" to which Bremen's Scottish striker is headed is London's Millwall F.C.
Having made no attempts to hide the fact that VfL Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Maximilian Philipp was undergoing a medical with the club, SV Werder Bremen have quickly slapped a tricot on the 28-year-old and introduced him as a new player. As reported earlier, Philipp will join the Hanseaten on a loan deal good through the end of the season.

"Due to the upcoming loan of Oliver Burke, sporting necessities and economic opportunities have arisen, so we had to react," Club Souting and Licensing head Clemens Fritz noted in a statement, We are happy that we were able to sign Maximilian. He brings experience from over 130 Bundesliga games and will make our offensive game more flexible."

"Werder is a great club," Philipp himself added, "I'm looking forward to the task and the chance to play at Werder. I want to help the team and get back to more playing time. I know the competition is fierce, but I'm up to it and I want to do my part to help Werder continue to play successful football."

As for Burke's next loan destination, Germany's "Sport Bild" claims that the Scottish international is headed to the Lions' Den in southeast London. Millwall F.C. are expected to confirm Burke's transfer shortly.
