Werder Bremen winger Florian Kainz is set to join FC Köln as the two clubs have confirmed that they have reached an agreement over a transfer fee, subject to a medical on Friday.

If Kainz completes his medical, he will sign a contract with the 2. Bundesliga side that runs until 2022.

"I would like to thank the team, the fans and all employees of the club for the last few years. I've always felt very comfortable in Bremen. The support was particularly great in the two first years when we were fighting to avoid relegation," Kainz said, as quoted on Werder Bremen's official website.

Kainz, 26, joined Werder from Rapid Wien in the summer of 2016. He has made 59 appearances for 'The Green-Whites', scoring eight goals.
