Chelsea loanee Abdul Rahman Baba is close to leaving Schalke 04 to join French side Stade de Reims instead, Fussballtransfers.com understands.

Baba's loan deal with Schalke 04 runs until the summer, but it's set to be terminated as he's currently just the third choice at the left-back position - behind Bastian Oczipka and Hamza Mendyl.

Apparently, the full-back could go straight out on loan again as negotiations with Stade de Reims are said to be very advanced.

Abdul Rahman Baba has made just four appearances for Schalke this season.
