Multiple sources: Jonas Boldt will not be named sporting director at Schalke
Jonas Boldt will not take over the position as sporting director at Schalke 04, according to several reports.
Former Bayer Leverkusen boss Jonas Boldt will not be appointed sporting director at Schalke 04, according to Sky, Sport1 and the Funke Mediengruppe.
Apparently, Schalke were interested in hiring Boldt, but the 37-year-old has turned down the opportunity to work for the Gelsenkirchen club under the newly appointed head of sport, Jochen Schneider.
It's now conceivable that Boldt will instead take over Schneider's old job as team coordinator at RB Leipzig.
Meanwhile, the are a number of other candidates for the vacant position as sporting director at Schalke, including Alexander Rosen, Sven Mislintat, Huub Stevens and Thomas Linke.
