Kai Havertz and Timo Werner were both linked with Bayern München during the summer, but ultimately stayed at Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig respectively.

According to Havertz, there were numerous reasons why he didn't come to Bayern this summer, but he insists that he isn't scared off by the thought of joining the German champions.

"They haven't scared me off. I don't know exactly what it was like with Timo, but it just didn't happen for me this year," Havertz told Sky and added:

"I think there were a number of reasons why. But I'm happy to be here and stay in Leverkusen for another year. We'll see what will happen next summer."

Havertz's contract with Leverkusen runs until 2022.
