Hertha BSC midfielder Arne Maier is set to return to team training on Tuesday after recovering from a knee injury.

The 20-year-old, who is yet to make an appearance this season, is hoping to return to match action soon.

"My knee is fine. I want to play some games in the first half of the season," Maier told Bild.

Hertha coach Ante Covic told Bild:

"He has worked very well individually recently and is now ready to train with us.

"Arne is important for the team. Although he's still very young, he oozes calmness and composure. We'll have to wait and see how his body reacts."

The 20-year-old played 26 games for Hertha last season.
