Julian Nagelsmann plays down RB Leipzig's title chances

RB Leipzig 'aren't good enough' to win the Bundesliga title, says Julian Nagelsmann.
RB Leipzig don't have what it takes to win the Bundesliga title at the moment, according to the club's coach, Julian Nagelsmann.

'Die Roten Bullen' sit top of the Bundesliga table after the first half of the season, but Nagelsmann feels his team will have to improve to hold on to the top spot.

"We have to develop. We're not good enough to become champions at the moment," he told Bild.

For instance, Nagelsmann believes RB Leipzig need to do better against other top teams such as Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund whom they drew with in the first half of the season.

"Bayern and Dortmund are said to be weaker than they used to be. For us, it would be helpful to beat them from time to time, otherwise it will simply be difficult at the end of the season," Nagelsmann said.

Asked how many points he estimates RB Leipzig will need to become champions, Nagelsmann said:

"Probably twice as many as we have. Plus maybe one or two more wins."
