Joshua Kimmich reflects on Bayern move
Joshua Kimmich wanted to know exactly what Bayern München saw in him when he learned that the German champions wanted to sign him from RB Leipzig years ago.
Joshua Kimmich believes Bayern München could sign nearly any player in the world if they wanted to.
Therefore, he was curious to find out what the reigning German champions saw in him when they wanted to bring him to Allianz Arena from RB Leipzig in 2015.
"I think the club were already interested in me, or rather in what kind of player I was. Personally, it was important for me to find out why they had chosen me. Especially given that it's FC Bayern," Kimmich said in a video posted on Bayern München's website and added:
"From my perspective, Bayern München could buy nearly any player in the world, especially to fill my position. That's why it was intriguing for me to find out, 'Why me?'. What was the deciding factor?"
Since his move to Bayern, the 25-year-old has made 207 appearances for the Bavarians with 21 goals and 48 assists to his name.
