VfL Wolfsburg are close to agreeing personal terms with Hannover 96 winger Linton Maina, according to Kicker.

However, the two clubs appear to be far apart in their valuation of the 21-year-old, who has also been linked with Borussia Mönchengladbch and VfB Stuttgart.

Hannover are understood to be holding out for a fee in the double-digit million Euro range while Wolfsburg are hoping to be able to sign Maina for around €5 million plus bonuses.

"Maina is an interesting player, but only under the right conditions and not for a transfer fee of €10 million or more," Wolfsburg boss Jörg Schmadtke recently said and added:

"We're not in fantasy land!"

If Maina arrives at Volkswagen Arena, Wolfsburg are expected to say goodbye to at least one other winger. Felix Klaus would be allowed to leave the club while Josip Brekalo could be on the move as well after attracting interest from Italy.
