RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has confirmed that he has talked to Bayern München CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge about Dayot Upamecano.

"I had a telephone call with him, and we left it that we’d speak again when it became more concrete," Mintzlaff told reporters after Leipzig’s 1-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić confirmed earlier on Saturday that the club had met with the representatives of the RB Leipzig defender, who has a €42.5 million exit clause.

"He has a release clause, that's known by now, so we're not in the driver's seat. These are decisions we are not involved in. We are his employer, not his advisor," said Mintzlaff.

The 45-year-old also stressed that there are also other interested parties.

"Such a player is of course not just on the list of FC Bayern."
