Rudi Völler to step back as Leverkusen boss in 2022
Bayer Leverkusen sporting managing director Rudi Völler has revealed he is set to retire in 2022.

"I'll retire in 2022 – at least from this job. It's the right time now because the club is basically very well-positioned, although we haven't delivered convincing results in the past two and a half months," said Völler in an interview with Sport Bild.
"I'll discuss with [chairman of the shareholders' committee] Mr. Wenning whether I will continue in another role. However, after so many years in the front row, I certainly need a bit of distance first," added the 60-year-old.
After hanging up his boots, Völler has spent more than 20 years working for Bayer Leverkusen.
