Now, the French Football Federation has lodged an official complaint to FIFA, and according to French media, Augustin could potentially be suspended for a league game as a result thereof.
However, Kicker reports that RB Leipzig don't fear a penalty. Apparently, 'Die Roten Bullen' have reached out to the Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) who has confirmed there is no danger of a penalty as there is no international duty at under-21 level.
No matter what, the incident probably hasn't exactly boosted Augustin's chances of playing for 'Les Bleus' in the future.
