Confirmed: Mainz's Malong departs for Olympiacos
The transfer of Mainz midfielder and Cameroon international Pierre-Kunde Malong to Olympiacos Piräus was officially confirmed on Wednesday evening.

Slightly later than expected, both the Bundesliga's FSV Mainz 05 and Greek Superclub Olympiakos Piraeus confirmed the transfer of Pierre-Kunde Malong late Wednesday. The two clubs agreed not to divulge financial terms of the deal, but German footballing magazine Kicker reports that the transfer fee totals some €1.5 million plus unspecified bonuses.
If the reported number is true, Mainz ended up getting far less for the player than they had hoped for during negotiations purported to have taken place this weekend. Malong, who sometimes goes by the moniker "Kunde", departs the Bundesrepublik having made 70 appearances for the Rheinhessen over the course of three seasons.
