Ahead of their DfB-Pokal clash with Oberliga opponents SV Hemelingen, VfL Wolfsburg coach Paul Simonis addressed the media.

The 40-year-old discussed the club's pre-season preparations and issued a detailed personnel update for the first-round game.

"It's been an intense and interesting few weeks. We've all gotten to know each other better and trained hard. Overall, we were able to prepare well and have gotten off to a good start.

"Rogério suffered a minor muscular setback. It's nothing serious, but he won't be playing this weekend.

"The game also comes too soon for Jonas Wind and Jesper Lindström. Both have already trained partially with the team, but they still need some time.

"Mo Amoura's availability is still questionable. It's nothing major, but he also showed a reaction after the game against Brighton. It will probably be a 50-50 decision.

“Max remains captain. But since the transfer window is still open for some time, we'll wait a bit longer to decide the rest of the squad,” he added.
