Wirtz leans towards Bayern move, Sky reports
Europe's top clubs are battling for the services of Florian Wirtz, who is widely expected to be playing his final season at Bayer Leverkusen.
According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich currently appear to be leading the race for the 21-year-old's signature, with the German publication reporting that the player is leaning towards joining the record champions.
It's been reported that Bayern first approached Wirtz years ago, but they are yet to open talks with Leverkusen over the prodigy.
Real Madrid, Manchester City and Arsenal are also said to be in the running for Wirtz, who is expected to cost between €100 million and €150 million.
Naturally, Leverkusen would prefer to ship him abroad rather than sell him to a domestic rival, but of course the player's own will also plays a big part.
Should Bayern lose out in the race to sign Wirtz next summer, they could make a move for Xavi Simons, who is currently in his second year on loan at RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Bavarians tried to sign the 21-year-old Dutchman last summer, but he opted to stay in Leipzig for a second year.
