Bayern "deeply annoyed" by Carro's attack on Eberl

Fernando Carro's criticism of Max Eberl has left Bayern Munich bosses "deeply annoyed", says Jan-Christian Dreesen.

At a fan club event on Tuesday, Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro took a remarkable swipe at Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl.

Showing his frustration at the way Eberl has handled negotiations for Jonathan Tah, Carro said he doesn't "think much" of the Bayern boss and that he "wouldn't negotiate" with him.

FC Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has now responded to the comments, for which Carro has since apologized.

“We were deeply annoyed by Fernando Carro's personal attack on Max Eberl. I also told Fernando Carro this in a private conversation, because we can and will never tolerate, let alone accept, such unprofessional attacks on FC Bayern,” Dreesen said in a statement posted by FC Bayern.

“He has acknowledged that he made a mistake by issuing a public apology. Despite our sporting rivalry, we should still be guided by mutual respect.”
