After yet another outstanding performance in goal as Eintracht Frankfurt defeated VfL Bochum 3-1 last Sunday, Kaua Santos spoke to Frankfurter Rundschau.

The 21-year-old expressed his delight after another strong showing and talked about his healthy rivalry with teammate Kevin Trapp.

“We have different qualities, and we learn a lot from each other every day,” said the Brazilian who signed for the Hessen club for €1.6million in 2023.

“It’s been an incredible time since I arrived here [in Frankfurt]. I feel like I’m constantly evolving.

“My team, my coach, and I are all pulling together and working toward the goals we’ve set for ourselves,” Santos added.

He went on to reveal he and Trapp can converse in Portuguese thanks to the German’s fiancée, Izabel Goulart, who is Brazilian also.

“I feel very comfortable [in Frankfurt]. My family and I are happy; we’ve been very well received.

“The project presented by the club was very clear to me. I am very happy and looking forward to the future,” Santos concluded.

With shin problems hampering first-choice Kevin Trapp, Santos may get another chance to impress after the international break when Frankfurt face Stuttgart.
