Chelsea to step up interest in Kobel?

Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel has attracted the interest of Chelsea, according to Bild.

The German tabloid claims that the Premier League side could make a move for the Swiss international at the end of the season.

Should Dortmund, who currently sit eighth in the Bundesliga, fail to qualify for the Champions League, it could prove very difficult to keep hold of the goalkeeper.

Kobel is under contract until 2028 and a potential transfer fee is estimated at €60-80 million.

Robert Sanchez and Filip Jørgensen have shared the minutes in the Chelsea goal this season.

Dortmund paid €15 million to sign 27-year-old Kobel from Stuttgart in 2021.
